Next week is always one of the craziest weeks of the year for me. Fourth of July is a big deal at our place so I knew that if I wanted to finish strong in June I had to have a really good running week. Also, starting July 7th is our training for the HALF MARATHON!!! I seriously can’t believe I just wrote that sentence. Part of me is SO excited & part of me is nervous that I won’t be able to do it. I am trusting my training plan.
Anyways, because next week is going to be crazy I wanted to stock up my miles this week and try and hit my June goal of 60 miles. I have a race later this week and will be trying to sneak two more runs in, so I should easily surpass it. Of course, the competitive side of me came out during my workout tonight and I wound up running the exact distance I needed to hit my goal!
60 miles in June… Check!
It was insanely humid out today and I got a later start so it was off to the gym for me. I enjoy running once a week at the gym because it is 100% flat :).
6.25 miles in 54:19 I was pretty happy with my run. As usual I started out around 9 minutes and picked it up. Right now I would say a normal, average pace for me is around 8:45/mile. Ultimately I’d like to get to 8:30/mile for a few more races I have coming up this year so we will see what happens. For now I’m pretty happy with it!
