A Few Blogging Must Haves & Wednesday Link Love

It’s officially Wednesday which means we are at the halfway point of a short(er) week this week. As much as I’m looking forward to a long weekend with my boys I can’t complain too much about my week. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a marketing nerd at heart but I can officially say I’ve never had a marketing week as bad as the United team had this week. I guess that is one positive from the week, right?

On another note, outside of the internet trolling United there have been a lot of other great things I’ve come across. A few of them are blogging related and a few of them are random finds. Let’s start with the blogging must haves, shall we?

Blogging Must Haves

Blogging Must Haves

Before we dig into the non-blog related links I’ve found this week I have to share a few blogging must haves with you. A few weeks ago someone recommended the course Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing in one of my blogging groups. I was skeptical about paying for something since so far I haven’t dug in too much to monetize my blog. While the thought has crossed my mind, it is far from a top priority lately. Michelle has completely changed my outlook on this.

I’ve used a few of my lunch hours to work through the course instead of blogging over the last few weeks. This might explain why there have been fewer posts popping up. Late last week I finished it up and am incredibly excited about everything I’ve learned. If you are at all looking to boost your income through blogging you MUST check out Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. Not only did I learn a A LOT about affiliate marketing (20+ pages of notes) but there is a bonus Pinterest lecture which answered a number of questions I’ve had as I dig into it more.

Now it is time to apply all of her wonderful knowledge to the Leggings and Lattes! Speaking of things you learn from the course (and blogging must haves), there is a whole section on Boardbooster which as I mentioned last week is a Pinterest game changer! I rarely speak about something with this many exclamation marks. You know it is worth it.

Wednesday Link Love

Moving on.

There always seems to be more links I discover than I can share in a weekly post without making things overwhelming. Does anyone else ever feel like we are so lucky to have so many resources right at our fingertips?

Speaking of being lucky, this upcoming Monday is the day runners often refer to as marathon Monday. Also known as the day of the Boston Marathon. This year will mark the 50th anniversary of Kathrine Switzer’s running of the Boston Marathon. Why is that important? Kathrine Switzer was the first female to run Boston with a bib number. She will be running it again this year and I highly recommend this Runner’s World article. Running for both men and women will forever be changed because of her.

Has anyone been watching the Wendy’s twitter feed? Am I just that much of a nerd that I get a kick out of it? For those who do not know, Wendy’s has been winning when it comes to social media lately. From trolling McDonald’s to helping Carter get his nugs I highly recommend it for a good laugh.

When Little Man was starting food I often made his baby food and have been doing the same for Baby B lately. I love knowing exactly what goes into his food even though he’s going to put his mouth on a shopping cart when we leave the house 20 minutes later. This week I was targeted with this squeeze station on Facebook and I decided it is a must have in our house. Not only will it work for Baby B but Little Man also loves the applesauce pouches. I can’t wait to try it.

This week we officially marked the end of our fitness competition in my office by having a day filled with junk food. I decided to try making this ice cream in my ice cream maker and it came out so well. In the past I’ve hesitated trying to get the ice cream frozen enough but this recipe was perfect. I’m saving it for a summer treat.

How was your week? What fun links have you found to share?

    1. If you decide to dive in I would HIGHLY recommend starting there. I was very hesitant too to purchase and it was well worth it for the knowledge.

  4. I haven’t tried her course, but I’ve heard only good things about it. That’s really neat about that lady being the first woman running with a bib in a marathon! My husband’s training for his first one right now, so we really pay attention to running news.

    1. That’s so funny you say that about boardbooster, I felt so overwhelmed with Tailwind! I really need to get back and try it again.

  5. So grateful for your insight on the blogging techniques but I must fess up…my favorite part was your end of fitness competition junk food fun!!! Love it!
