Easter Candy Win & Valentine's Day Candy Fail – Friday Favorites

Earlier this week I decided to take advantage of the leftover Valentine’s Day candy at Walgreens that was on sale for 50% off. In my mind, they should have had a lot in stock but come to find out they didn’t have a whole lot left and most of what was there was NOT 50% off! Who buys heart shaped candy for any reason other than Valentine’s Day? Luckily Easter candy had other plans.

Easter Candy

While being upset about the lack of half off Valentine’s Day candy, I discovered that the Easter candy is slowly making it’s way onto shelves. Even though it is full price, the Mini Cadbury Egg purchases have begun and I am not at all ashamed to admit it. Easter Candy is some of the best candy of the year and I can’t wait to eat it for the next month and a half. Maybe we will get lucky and there will actually be half off Easter candy after easter is over.

Valentine's Day candy is gone, but Easter candy has come to the rescue. How many bags of cadbury eggs have you eaten so far? Click To Tweet

Ever since I saw these Blueberry Lemon Donuts on Christina’s sidebar I have been trying to convince myself not to buy a donut pan so I can make them. These are some serious life decisions. I’ve come across a few other donut recipes this week and I feel like it is only a matter of time before I cave and make donuts.

Calling all gymnastics (and Olympic) fans. Gymcastic is making podcast listener’s dreams come true. Next week they are launching a SIT DOWN VIDEO interview with Mckayla Maroney! For those who may not know who she is, she became famous after her Gold & Silver medals at the 2012 Olympics for her Not Impressed face. She has disappeared from the gymnastics scene over the last two years after a lot of bullying and a scandal with photos being released. I cannot wait to see what she has to say. I’ve missed her sass around USA Gymnastics and gymnastics social media.

Earlier this week I saw the Today Show share a post called Let’s Be Careful With Our “Dear Mom Who” Post. It is so incredibly easy to judge other mom’s as you see the way they handle a certain situation. I LOVED this post as it gives a great example and all of the reasons why you might be judging the wrong person. Anyone who uses social media (not just moms) should read this. You never know what is going on behind the scenes.

Did anyone else enjoy the Marathon Olympic Trials as much as I did? Not only was it awesome to see the team named, but I absolutely fell in love with the teamwork put forth by Shalane Flanagan and Amy Cragg. I won’t even pretend that I didn’t cry when Amy caught Shalane at the finish line. A true team even though they were technically competitors. That is my favorite kind of sportsmanship.

Most importantly this Friday, we are officially one week away from the Netflix release of Fuller House. Not that I am counting down or anything.

Have you ever made donuts? Did you use a donut pan?

  1. I’ve never made doughnuts in a doughnut because I don’t have one, but I would love to get one! I have made fried doughnuts before. O_O I have to remind myself that it’s all about the balance. 🙂

    1. Haha fries doughnuts sound wonderful too! I need to attempt them sometime!
