Friday Favorites – The Holidays Are Here!

From Christmas music dance parties to candy canes our holidays are in full swing in our house this week. Tomorrow is decoration day, our tree is going up and the rest of our outside decorations will shine bright (hopefully). We are only a few weeks out from Christmas so here are a few of my holiday Friday Favorites.

Holiday Friday FavoritesIn years past I’ve always waited until the last minute to pick out my ugly Christmas sweater and the prices are sky high. This year, I already picked up sweater for, but I won’t lie… part of me wants to pick this one up for next year, I can’t stop laughing. It reminds me of my Sunday School growing up when we always had a birthday party (complete with cake) at our last class before Christmas.

There are gift guides popping up left and right on social media this week but the Essential Gym Nerd Gift Guide from Gymcastic is by far my favorite. If anyone wants to buy me a Swag-Meter t-shirt I would not complain.

My sweet tooth is in full force this week (if you couldn’t tell) and I’m excited for breakfast today, Candy Cane Croissants. I’m pretty sure we’re going to have to make this Gingerbread Baked Oatmeal sometime in the next few weeks too.

Speaking of Gingerbread. Monday night I realized that Green Mountain Gingerbread Kcups are back in stores. I usually keep my supply stocked up thanks to Amazon but they are so much cheaper right now. I’m not going to lie, I might need to buy a few hundred boxes to get through the next year.

There were a few good Black Friday deals that I kept an eye on last week. I ordered my first pack of Bombas socks. About an hour later I happened to walk by the TV and noticed they were on Shark Tank. How did I miss that? So many people have recommended them and they should be here this weekend and I can’t wait to try them out!

Last but not least. Each year college basketball dedicates a week to a much loved coach, Jim Valvano. A few short months before he died he gave one of the greatest speeches in sports history. Take 11 minutes and listen to it. You will laugh, cry and most of all be reminded what is important in life.

  1. Good thinking getting your holiday sweater early! I am still on the hunt for mine…but some of them are like $30-$40 and that seems really silly 🙂 My favorite holiday sweet is probably all of the yummy drinks (egg nog, hot chocolate, champagne, the holiday drinks from Starbucks…)
