Fruit Salad Smoothie – A Toddler Approved Summer Treat

One thing I find funny about summer parties is that everyone seems to have their thing. Someone brings the buffalo dip, someone brings the veggie tray, someone is in charge of the grill, etc. My thing this summer very quickly turned into fruit salad. To be fair, if I had my way I would eat nothing but fruit all of the time. Our list of parties has been pretty crazy this summer and I feel like I’ve been enjoying making fruit salads almost on a weekly basis.

To be fair, the only complaint I have is that I’ve rarely had leftovers.

Each fruit salad is a little bit different. Some fruit salads are heavy on the watermelon, some have more pineapple, peaches make appearances in some while mangos have been in others. In my opinion, that is what makes fruit salad such a fun treat…no two fruit salads are the same. It is fun to get creative and change up the weekly fruit salad recipe.

Fruit Salad Smoothie

A few weeks ago, while putting my fruit salad together I was craving a smoothie. Our grocery trip hadn’t included my normal smoothie fruit for my favorite green smoothie. I decided just to make a smoothie out of the various pieces of fruit I was cutting up for our fruit salad. Suddenly, a fruit salad smoothie sounded like a pretty amazing idea.

Each type of fruit I cut up, I added it into the mix. I had no idea how it would come out, but can you really go wrong with a fruit salad anything? For the most part I followed my general recipe for smoothies. This time I added a lot more flavors of fruit and hoped all of their flavors mixed together well.

Not only did my fruit salad smoothie look pretty… it tasted amazing.

Generally speaking when Little Man hears the Nutribullet start blending he comes running. We shared the fruit salad smoothie and it is officially toddler approved. He was a little disappointed that I didn’t add leaves (Spinach) to it but like a fruit salad it could be made with just about anything. We’ll try it again with leaves another day.
