The Starving Artist

A few weeks ago The Starving Artist hat started popping up around the knitting community… I resisted. I’m not a hat person. I made the cabled beanie this year to satisfy the need of a hat and I’ve worn it 5 or 6 times… hats just aren’t my thing!

For some reason I couldn’t get The Starving Artist out of my mind. I knew I had the perfect yarn for the hat, but I wasn’t really sure where I would ever wear a slouchy beret. Yesterday, I decided to say goodbye to my socks from the Rockin’ Sock Club January Shipment and move onto something else. The Starving Artist.

I knit this hat in about 3.5 hours and I recommend it for ANYONE who is looking for a quick knit. The yarn is my handspun a mix of a romney fleece and Intention Yarns – Hope colorway.

I’m still not sure if the slouchy beret is my style, but it’s worth a shot! I think the hat is cute and a wonderful pattern for a quick knit. It was exactly what I needed to get my mind off those socks!
