A Whole Lot of Neon & Another Week of Walking

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliate links.

This week was one of those weeks where it was a roller coaster. Sunday kicked off great. I got a good walk in dressed in a whole lot of neon and was ready to take on the week. After Sunday things got a little rocky. By Friday I declared the week over and continued eating cupcakes my countdown to a run. About the only thing that was good this week was my eating…well except for the cupcakes Little Man and I made one day. Between a rough dentist appointment, a rainy week and a newborn who decided now is a good time to hate his crib this week was a fairly big fail.

Onto a new week.

Last Weeks Goals

  1. Walk 4 times – We were totally on track for this and then had 3 straight days of rain. Fail.
  2. 10,000 Steps A Day, At least 5 Days – ha, nope.
  3. Continue eating better – yes! I had a lot less junk overall and continued on the cooking dinner plan.!
  4. Drink 100oz of water a day – This was the first time in about 4 months that I massively failed drinking water. Next week will be better….

Workouts Last Week

A Whole Lot Of Neon
A Whole Lot of Neon (Shirt | Pants | Shoes ) – My Shadow Needed A Selfie Too

Sunday: Ready to take on the world we dressed in a whole lot of neon and headed out for a good walk. I feel like my steps might be off from our walk today but either way we walked 2.41 miles in exactly 48 minutes. Somehow Fitbit says I only took 3,000 steps during the walk. Slightly odd but I’ll roll with it. We stopped halfway through our walk for a run at the park. By running, I mean we ran up and down the steps to the slide about 300 times. Little Man and I had fun. If my steps really were incorrect I probably actually hit my 10,000 today. There was lots of running around at home as well.
Total Steps: 8,549

Monday: This is when things went downhill for a bit. A dentist cleaning ended badly and instead of getting our walk in I went home and took Motrin… and continued to throughout the rest of the week. Does anyone else hate the dentist as much as I do?
Total Steps: 5,556

Tuesday: I still wasn’t feeling great (6 days later I’m still not feeling great to be honest) so we had a fairly lazy morning. I decided we needed to do something about it so Little Man, Baby B and I loaded up the stroller and went to a different park. In the end our walk was 4.35 miles. It felt great and much needed.
Total Steps: 11,719

Wednesday: There was a lot of rain and we had another fairly lazy day. Little Man wanted to bake rainbow cupcakes so we spent about two hours in the kitchen. I’m not going to lie, baking with him is one of my favorite things to do. Our cupcakes turned out a little more red than rainbow but it was still a lot of fun. As evening rolled around we all needed to get out of the house. A “quick” 2.30 mile walk was just what we needed.
Total Steps: 8,838

Thursday: Baby B decided “mom sleep” is for the weak so he kicked off his “I won’t sleep unless anyone is holding me” phase that is going on three days now. Next week could be pretty fun if this keeps up. We got a lot of laundry done and the house cleaned. That was the extent of our exercise.
Total Steps: 6,576

Friday: If exhaustion set in any day this week it was today. A few things went down and basically ended with me in tears by the end of the day.  I declared Friday completely over and the week a fail. Luckily we had a play date with a good friend and it was exactly what we needed to get out of the house for a little bit. Since when are Friday’s the bad day of the week?
Total Steps: 6,030

Saturday: After very little sleep the last few nights I stuck close to the couch for the day. There was Notre Dame football, catching up on blogs and snugging with a toddler and newborn. There was no exercise. It’s time to start fresh.
Total Steps: 5,310

Goals For Next Week

Getting My Shit Together

They don’t change too much, instead of just eating better I want to try and plan more meals this week. Last week I relied heavily on last minute cooking decisions and this week need to actually plan! Surprisingly that worked out but I think a lot of last minute planning again will fail.

  1. Walk 4 times
  2. 10,000 Steps A Day, At least 5 Days
  3. Plan at least 3 dinners
  4. Drink 100oz of water a day

So far we are off to a great start, it’s almost noon on Sunday and I’m still in my pjs and we had McDonalds for breakfast… Can I claim the “I’ve been up since 10:45 last night” card?

How was your week?
Do you like to rock a whole lot of neon or do you prefer darker colors?

  1. I felt like my last two weeks have just been one heck of a tired ride for me. I did a 5K over the weekend and surprisingly I didn’t die. I haven’t ran in awhile. I have also been trying to get 10K steps in everyday. Some days I have accomplished this and others….nope. Good luck on your goals! Keep kicking butt!
