It has been a crazy three weeks and I realize I’ve almost completely fallen off the radar over the last month. I really do love my blogging time and eventually plan on getting back to a regular schedule. As for the last three weeks…holy hippos, where do I start? I’ve been back at work after maternity leave for three weeks now. In so many ways it’s like I never left, yet finding a new routine at home has been interesting… More on all of that another day. How about a little bit of “currently” to sum up the last 3-4 weeks?
My husband is a die hard Cubs fan so you can imagine how much we’ve been currently celebrating the Cubs World Series win. Last Sunday we took a trip up to Wrigley field to hang out and get a picture with the sign. Everyone else had the same idea but it was totally worth it. My heart goes out to Indian’s fans, it truly was an amazing game seven. Both teams could’ve pulled it out at the end.
Ignoring the fact her company filed for bankruptcy this week…I’m currently reading #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Not only is it a fantastic book but after watching this last week play out I feel like all of my female friends need to read it. It’s entirely possible that I will be purchasing multiple copies of this as Christmas presents this year. There is language so I would recommend avoiding handing it over to a pre-teen. I definitely have a few books from Book of the Month Club to catch up on. Yikes I need to start reading!
Don’t worry, I’m still on my Audible kick and currently listening to My Year of Running Dangerously. This has become my 10 minutes of quiet time during my commute in the morning… after the kids… before the work day.
When I was pregnant with Baby B, I knit him a hat to go with his coming home outfit. Little Man asked me for a hat too so a few weeks ago we took him to the yarn store. He picked out Knitcol from Adriafil in a very rainbow colorway. I am currently knitting him a hat for winter. Believe it or not, it’s going faster than I expected. His hat might actually be done this week!
While I’m still getting back into things I’ve been running as much as I can fit in. We are just starting to get this two kids and two working parents schedule thing worked out. Now that it’s settling I can’t wait to start pushing more runs. Fingers crossed the warm weather stays a little longer, the running at lunch has been wonderful.
This week I made a decision to free myself from social media. I’m currently enjoying a really nice Facebook break. Here’s the thing, I love Facebook, I love social media… I can’t stand the hate. More on this soon but I encourage you to try it. I’ve logged into Facebook only once a day for the last 4 days. It’s no longer on my phone and I don’t feel like I’m missing a whole lot. To be fair, I’m still loving Twitter and Instagram so let’s catch up there!
On the rare occasion I’ve been able to catch up on TV shows these last few weeks I’ve been currently obsessed with watching Designated Survivor, Madam Secretary & This is Us. All three are awesome shows and I highly recommend you drop everything and go watch them. The most wonderful season of sports in our house is back though…college basketball season! It was a weekend full of wins for both of our teams and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out this year.
What have you been up to lately?
Favorite thing to watch right now?
Cubs or Indians?
I’ve needed a bit of a social media break lately too. Sometimes it’s good to step away for a bit!
Well to me yours seems like a fun and peaceful week. I would love to be able to take a rest from my busy life for weeks. Kinda panic a bit now be cause Christmas is coming. Thanks for sharing Kristin. It was fun to read.

Lovely! That was an exciting period Kristin. And cheers for you being able to give up on social media. I think it’s a good mind therapy for some of us in this busy life.
