When I look back at high school, most of my favorite memories took place in my favorite coffee shop Sufficient Grounds Beaners Biggy. My friends are I high tailed it up there almost every day just to hang out for hours on end. We would do homework talk about life and share funny stories that happened when we weren’t together.
Now we are spread out around the world doing our own thing, but I often think back to our trips up to our coffee shop. I miss our days hanging out without a care in the world. I miss the conversations, the laughter, the jokes and the stories about life.
Today we’re going to have our own virtual coffee date.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that 2015 has completely flown by. Every time I look at the calendar another week has passed us faster than the one before.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this was the first weekend in months that there was only one thing on my calendar. It felt great to relax and unwind.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I didn’t get out of my pjs until 2:00pm yesterday afternoon and I have zero regrets about it.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that potty training is hands down the most frustrating part about having a toddler. Skip the terrible two’s, potty training is worse.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I read the entire book Summer Like No Other yesterday. I was highly disappointed in discovering that I had to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next. Guess what I bought immediately on amazon… Always Second Best.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I would like to keep this beautiful Fall weather all Winter long. The leaves are such amazing colors and the weather has been perfect this week.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I didn’t write down my workouts last week but for the first time in almost 4 months I ran 17 miles total during the week. It felt amazing and I’ve missed getting in decent runs.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the World Gymnastics Championships are this weekend and I have been obsessively following along via Twitter & the USA Gymnastics feed. Saturday my 6-year-old niece joined me in watching the American’s compete and being able to share the competition with her made my morning.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that Halloween is this weekend. Little man has his costume all picked out, I have my candy corn leggings & my husband finally got his hands on a banana costume. My work Halloween costume is remaining a secret.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you to have an awesome day and show Monday who is boss! Maybe you should grab an extra cup of coffee, just in case.
What would you tell me if we were having coffee?
What did you do this weekend?
What are you going to be for Halloween?
I really love this post – it’s a great idea! I think I might have to write one of my own along these lines. Very cool your back and forth time references. Thanks!

Great post! I would completely agree with you about how 2015 flew by. Slow down, time! I would also tell you how tired I am and how I feel like I’m being pulled in a million directions!
It is amazing how fast it has been!
loved this post! I am usually bored with these types and skim over them, but not this one! I had to read each one! Great job!
