The time has come and my first “good” pair of running shoes (in the last 10 years) have officially hit their mileage. They probably have a few more miles in them but they will be mostly reserved for walking from now on. My legs were starting to feel it after a run so it was time for a new pair of my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14s!
I loved my shoes so much that I ordered the exact same ones. As someone with a history of ankle problems I felt it was best to stick with what I knew worked so a new pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14’s arrived yesterday. I love them. I previously had the white/pink combo but decided to brighten it up a bit this time. The pictures don’t do it justice! To be honest green/blue is 100% my color combo too!
Ahh I’m in love.
Anyways, I originally had planned on making today my long run day. For a number of reasons my week is all crazy and disorganized. I really wanted to try my new shoes though and I knew it was a terrible idea to do a 7-8 mile run on a brand spanking new pair of shoes.
It was a gorgeous Fall July day, so even when I left to run I was convinced I was going to run my long run. About 1/3 of the way into my run I realized that was a stupid idea and switched it up to my “easy paced 35 minute run” of the week. I was already going at an “easy pace” since I was planning on a long run so it made the most sense. To be honest, the fried fish I had for lunch (at a family event) helped with that decision.
While it wasn’t my fastest run I felt pretty good after. I’m still trying to plan out the rest of my week. I’m really not doing a good job of cross training this week! We’ve had a large unexpected event happen & another event coming up so things got a little bit on the crazy side this week.
I love my new shoes though. I know everyone is different (and has different needs) so what are your favorite running shoes?
