This past weekend little man and I loaded up into the car and headed to visit Grandma in Ohio. Despite some crazy thunderstorms throughout our entire drive, we made it in one piece. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty thankful for Animal Mechanicals on the iPad as we drove through the rain. Little man enjoyed his show while mommy focused on the downpour and cars going a whole lot slower than normal.
Every time we visit we always manage to fill our weekends, no matter how much we have planned ahead of time. This weekend was no exception.
We’ve talked about taking little man down to the Toledo Public Library for awhile now. With a rainy Saturday morning, it made for a perfect day to check out the kids area down there. We did find some books to bring home but he also had a blast checking out the different stations they had set up for kids.
If you are ever in the Toledo area, I highly recommend a trip. Not only is the old building absolutely beautiful but the amount of stuff they have for kids to do is amazing!
After a trip to the park and visiting some family we had an energetic yet good dinner at our favorite Chinese place, Wei Wei Noodles. For desert, my mom had a little treat stashed away in her freezer, Mudhens Ice Cream. I managed to hide in the kitchen and almost make it through a bowl without getting busted by a toddler.
As usual our trip was way too fast and there needs to be another 3 days in the weekend. Sunday’s weather was beautiful so we spent the morning outside. We managed to take a quick walk through Woodlawn Cemetery and then headed to the park after lunch to tire out the little man. While he and Grandma took the dogs for a little walk, I enjoyed a little bit of time on the swing.
As far as I’m concerned, there is no age limit on swings. Plus, it always helps to stretch out your legs before a car ride home.
How was your weekend? When was the last time you were on a swing?
I always end up sitting on the swing, too, when I take my kids to the playground. Yes, definitely no age limit:)
Thanks for sharing all the kids fun in the Toledo area. That library looks like such a nice place.
