2013 is definitely a year to remember. I didn’t start the blog until December so chances are most of 2013 from my angle means nothing to you. To me it was a fabulous year!
Little man was born in February and life couldn’t be better. I look back and have a hard time imagining our life before he was born some days.
We have spent a lot of sleepless nights, times sleeping on the floor of the nursery and nights just snuggled up in our chair… And I wouldn’t trade them for the world. At 10 months he still isn’t consistent on his sleep schedule (or sleeping through the night) but I cherish the snuggle time, even if it means a 4 cup of coffee day at work the next day.
We have quickly learned to baby proof, hide the food and how to quickly shove dinner down our throats before someone gets his hands on it. Burp clothes are our friends for diaper changes, bath toys are the best toys and life wouldn’t be the same without Sophie the giraffe.
Baby food has become a constant recipe challenge in our house. Everything from fruit to Mac and cheese has been an adventure. Very rarely does little man turn his nose up at anything. He really does take after his parents.
Little man has grown in to a true little man. He babbles, toddles around, dances and is constantly learning new things. If 10 months ago you told me how wonderful he would be I couldn’t have even imagined this! He is truly wonderful!
Our family is embarking on a new journey this year as my husband transitions to a new job. It will mean summers off, time with the little man and a whole new world. I cannot wait. As we made the decisions for him to switch we consistently came back to “it will be better for the family”. It will be a huge adventure for the next six months as we add in an extra day of work, but come August he is off to his new job.
Little man will be getting a new cousin come summer. Exciting times had by all as we welcome a new little one into the extended family.
I had no idea what was in store for us this year and I wouldn’t change a thing. All in all 2013 was a blast and I cannot wait to see what 2014 has to bring.
