It’s no secret I have a problem with the Stephanie Plum series and that lately reading has become a must for me. As I am working my way the Stephanie Plum series I’m picking up a few books here and there while waiting for the next book to come in from the library. There are a few books that have been on my to-read or my pre-order list for awhile. As luck would have it two of them came out this week so they are very quickly getting moved to the top of my list.
It’s Not About Perfect
I’m a die-hard gymnastics fan at heart. Lately my gymnastics love happens when life allows for it, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t still love everything about the sport. Shannon Miller is the most decorated gymnast in US history and it’s hard to say you were a gymnastics fan in the 90s and NOT know who Shannon Miller is. A 7 time Olympic medalist (two golds) and a list of national and international titles a mile long it is safe to say that she is one for the record books.
After a crazy divorce, battle with cancer & a lot of other pieces of life Shannon has written a book called It’s Not About Perfect: Competing for My Country and Fighting for My Life and I cannot wait to start it ASAP.
Rules of Seduction
Yup, I love cheesy romance novels and Rules of Seduction has been on my pre-order list ever since one of my friends shared it on Facebook…. Coincidentally her sister wrote it, that made me even more convinced that it needed to be added to my list.
Originally written as a Jonas Brothers (I think?) fan fiction it has been translated over into a young adult novel about a girl named Dani and her first job in Hollywood.
I won’t lie, I used to read fan fiction all of the time (back in high school/college) and I can’t wait to pick this up for a quick easy read.
Orange is the New Black
I haven’t watched the Netflix series that is based on the book, although I’ve been told I need to before the new series comes out, but I added Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison to my “to-read” list to cover my “book with a color in the title” for the 2015 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge.
I’ve had a few friends read the book and watch the show and both have told me I need to start on it ASAP. It’s towards the top of my list and I hope to finish it up before the new season is on Netflix…..
Then again maybe by the end of the year.
The Maze Runner Series
A few months ago a friend told me that she thought I would really enjoy The Maze Runner books. A few years ago, two of my co-workers and I read The Hunger Games and most of the 50 Shades of Grey Series together. It was our own little morning discussion topic for a few weeks and it was fun. We decided we’re going to pick this series up this summer and read it together again since most people said that if we liked Hunger Games we will enjoy this.
I’m not too sure what the book is about to be honest but I’ve heard it recommended from a lot of people so I’m going to give it a whirl soon.
Cadence: Secrets of Wings
If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you’ve seen me reference my sister-in-law’s upcoming book Cadence: Secrets of Wings. I was lucky enough to read an earlier copy of the book (pre-editing/pre-rewriting pieces) and I already can’t wait until the final copy is published. A religious fiction book following a group of angels who head to earth, the book includes romance, humor, friendship all under the religious category. I also may be a little partial to the cover art.
There isn’t an exact publication date set yet but follow R.L. Lib – Author if you are interested in learning more.
In the mean time you’ll find me huddled up with my kindle reading High Five, Hot Six & Seven Up because the library is timing it out just right.
What is on your “Must Read” list right now?
