Records are breaking, kids were wearing shorts this week and snow was the last thing on everyone’s mind. We are one week away from Christmas and the “white Christmas” everyone is looking forward to is in the hands of Mother Nature. For now, it is not looking very likely.
Chances are, Mother Nature just likes to keep us on our toes this time of the year. According to my Timehop two years ago we were literally snowed in visiting my mom in Ohio. Now we have spent most of the last week questioning whether coats are needed or not. Even though Little Man is not okay with the lack of snow, I’ve enjoyed having the nicer weather for the last week.
We have been lucky en0ugh to have some of the most beautiful sunrises over the last two weeks, Mother Nature has truly outdone herself lately. Two to three days a week we barely see the sun except around 7am with a sunrise filled with color. The other day as I was packing up the car to leave in the morning my text messages started going crazy. There was a double rainbow nearby and you could see both ends. Little Man and I watched it almost the whole way to daycare, it was beautiful.
Possibly the BEST NEWS of the week is that Fuller House has a release date AND we got a preview. Block off your calendar for February 26th, the Full House gang is back and I am so incredibly excited! I was obsessed with Full House as a kid and I was beyond excited when they announced the made for Netflix series.
Cupcakes and Coffee Grounds has an amazing post on Confessions of a Blogger. It is so incredibly true and I love how she put it all together. I was also laughing through the whole post too.
Just like everything in my life right now, I’m 10 days behind on RLLib’s Mascot Girl but I highly recommend you check it out. It will throw you back to college (maybe) and remind you about the start of life on your own, finding new friends and trying to fit in. I’m only a few chapters in but am having a blast reading it!
Not to start a political debate here…but if you haven’t had a chance to check out Will Ferrell as George W Bush on SNL last weekend I highly recommend you plug in your headphones, drop everything and watch it. I was in tears I was laughing so hard.
Speaking of laughing so hard I was crying, I’m pretty sure my co-workers thought I was nuts yesterday listening to Gymcastic’s latest podcast episode. The end is very much not safe to play out loud work and not safe to listen to with kids around, then again none of their episodes are. If you are even slightly a gymnastics fan, I would recommend checking them out.
While you’re at it there are two new gymnastics books out this month that I’ve already bought but need to get reading on. Nastia Liukin finally released her memoire Finding My Shine and Lauren Hopkins released a gymnastics fiction book called Finding Our Balance. Both have had some good reviews and I can’t wait to find time to read them.
Time to head off to work. Today I’m rocking my ugly Christmas sweater for the year and my amazing Christmas leggings that finally arrived in the mail this week. Christmas Day is a week away!
What is your favorite thing this week?
White Christmas or warm weather?
Thank you so much for the love, Kristin, and for sharing my working with your readers! It truly means the world!
Of course! Thank you for the wonderful (and so very true) post!
It’s been warm here too, but the sun hasn’t come out until today…which, of course, now it’s freezing. Oh well. I needed the sunshine. I think I read that blog post too….totally all true.

I am totally ok with the warm weather–hello, I’m on crutches! That would be a NIGHTMARE to be dealing with snow right now. That view is just incredible. Simply stunning. Talk about putting that extra oxygen to use–it is taking my breath away!

I would take warm weather over cold any day!
We’ve had warm temps and awesome sunsets here in Vermont too. I want snow, but I’ll live. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
To answer one of your questions…. white Christmas or warm weather.
I will take warm weather. Why? Because winter is the longest season. So far, it hasn’t been too wintery, so I’m hoping Winter feels shorter this year 🙂 🙂
Thank you for the pingback. You are so good with blogs, I love your layout and I don’t really know what a pingback is until you did it. You make me feel like an old grandpma trying to navigate wordpress, lol!!
Can’t wait to spend Xmas eve at your new home.
lol I’m glad I can help! You know I’m always here to help! I agree, warm weather is better!
